EK Health Nurse Consultant Receives 2010 Award

FROM STATE OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH NURSES ASSOCIATION

Pam DannenbergSAN JOSE, California − November 15, 2010 − Pam J. Dannenberg, EK Health’s Occupational Health and Ergonomic Services Consultant, was recently presented The 2010 Moore Excellence Award. The award, which recognizes occupational health nurses for achievement, leadership qualities and contribution to the profession, was given by the California State Association of Occupational Health Nurses (CSAOHN).

Dannenberg has spent 25 years as an Occupational Health Nurse with a focus on helping prevent injuries with ergonomic strategies. As CSAOHN Board Member and Government Affairs Liaison, Dannenberg helps nurses recognize their voices are important in the legislative process. She encourages them to stay informed and to communicate with legislators about issues that affect the health and safety of workers.

“Pam has been the hardest working member on our state board consistently,” said Julie Rochefort, president of CSAOHN. In addition to organizing over 100 occupational health nurses for a day of legislative meetings in Sacramento, she kept the organization updated on a variety of worker health issues, including unhealthy pesticides, cell phone health and heat-related illnesses.

Dannenberg, who received her BS in Nursing from Wartburg College, was presented the award last month at the meeting of CSAOHN in Newport Beach, California.
