Dr. Douglas Benner, Chief Medical Officer / Medical Director of EK Health Services, Inc., will be participating as a guest speaker at 32nd Annual Mid-Summer Seminar by the California Society of Industrial Medicine and Surgery (CSIMS). The event, 'Elevate Your Practice - Overcoming Obstacles' is being held between June 8-10 at the Resort at Squaw Creek in beautiful Squaw Valley overlooking Lake Tahoe in Northern California.
Dr. Benner will be joined in discussion by Ray Meister, MD, Executive Medical Director for the California DWC to discuss the topic of 'Are Solutions Possible?' on Saturday, June 10, 2017 from 10:45 a.m.-12 p.m. Together, they will lead a panel of legal and managed care experts in a discussion aimed at providing the audience with new tools and techniques meant to help overcome the growing administrative and procedural burdens and barriers to providing health care to California's injured workers in the age of "evidence based" medicine.
Benner brings expertise as the top medical executive of EK Health, a leading national workers’ compensation managed care company, and credentials as diplomat of the American Board of Preventative Medicine in Occupational Medicine.
As founding Medical Director of Kaiser Permanente’s Northern California’s Employee Health Services until 2011, which included over 70,000 employees and physicians, Benner was named among “The Most Influential People in California Workers' Compensation” in 2010 by Workers’ Comp Executive.
