The world of Medicare Set Asides (MSAs) and Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP) Compliance is both complex and in constant change. With advances in technology in the medical field, changes in legislation and processes, and the challenges of managing the settlement of a claim, Medicare Set-Asides is are critical component in developing a successful workers' compensation managed care program.

With a wealth of knowledge and experience on the topic, EK Health's Vice President of MSA Services, Jake Reason, will participate in a panel discussion of industry trends at this year's annual conference for the National Alliance of Medicare Set Asides Professionals (NAMSAP) being held in Baltimore, MD.

Joining Jake in the discussion will be Porter Leslie, President of Ametros, and Kimberly Wiswell, Vice President, Managed Care Operations and Team Excellence for CLARA Analytics. Panelists will focus on the topics of: CMS' increasingly active monitoring of MSA funds after settlement, impending formal guidance on Liability MSAs, technological advances that are decreasing the cost of professional administration, and alternatives to opioids for pain management. The session will take place on Friday, October 5, from 9:45AM-11:45AM.

NAMSAP was formed to help individuals and organizations address claims impacted by the Medicare Secondary Payer Statute (MSP). The MSP is federal legislation designed to prevent the shifting of responsibility from a primary payer to the federal government in liability and workers’ compensation claims.
