At National Comp 2025, Risk & Insurance editor-in-chief Dan Reynolds spoke with Greg Moore, CEO of EK Health, about the industry’s transition from policing care to actively facilitating better clinical outcomes.

Moore emphasized that as physician shortages deepen, managed care organizations must shift toward rapid access, trusted provider relationships, and real-time decision-making to keep injured workers moving efficiently through the system. He highlighted the importance of engaging specialists fairly, reducing delays that drive disability durations, and ensuring patients feel supported throughout their recovery.

Moore also discussed EK Health’s EKOS operating system, designed to unify bill review, utilization review, and nurse case management to strengthen interoperability and improve results.

Looking ahead, he sees AI as a major disruptor that will streamline processes, unlock new opportunities, and reshape how care is delivered across workers’ compensation.
